I have been very, very busy of late but this thread is interesting to me.
First of all, the idea of progressive. Jtt sort of it hit upon it, but is a way of looking at the world. Conservatives like to claim, they are realistic and
approach the world with open eyes. Progressive, I prefer the term liberal,
but hay that's me. we see the world with realistic eyes, but instead of just
oh well, that's how the world is, we think the world can be made better.
In other words, we are optimist vs conservatives negative thinking. We believe
something can be better if we tried. It is about a viewpoint about looking at
the world. A conservative sees homeless people and bitches and moans how they litter up his street, a liberal see homeless people and tries to think of a way to get them off the street. We attempt to improve the world and conservatives just bitch and moan and hope that people die. Conservatives also hold on to the past and liberals look to the future. Ronald Reagan (one of the worse american presidents in history) look back to a time that didn't even exist in america. Conservatives hark en back even to medieval times as an
ideal representation of when to live, instead of present or the future as ideal's.
It is a mindset, a way of looking at things that make liberals and conservatives different.
