Oh yeah. We have a large group of willfully ignorant people which openly admit to being willfully ignorant, cuz they don't need to know all them 'facts'—you know, because it is their constitutionally protected right to say whatever the hell they like. God bless Amurika.

It makes me wonder if societies all go batshit at the turn of a century. I keep looking around at not only Amurika, but at all the so-called "developed" societies, and there is this giant division of those demanding "the good ol' days", and those who want to push into the next century.

It seems that radicalism is the new fad. Where the fuck is the pot, the lava lamp, and my Doors cassette when I need 'em?

Human social circles are really no different then animal circles.
Everyday our animals from goats to cats to dogs are all fed at the same time as are our bosses critturs, Buffalo, pigs, dogs, cat, horses etc.
If they are all fed well at the same time everyday they are complacent happy and contented to let the world go by. Take them off their feed and all hell breaks loose. They will turn on each other and their masters/owners or handlers. Its rather scary to have a buffalo pissed off at you.
Humans do the same. The economies are off the feed. People are cranky, they want their schedule and food back. Trouble is; their masters don't quite know how to do that. So since the masters can't or won't, the human crittur is being forced to try and feed itself. This is too stressful for a human social crittur, its far too much work, it must be delegated out so that the majority can graze peacefully. Which means the human critturs will eventually oust the present masters in order to get new ones so that they can get back to chewing their all important cud.
They will either oust them violently or by election, it just depends upon which side has the most infuence, the violent or the civil.
