Yes jt, it is clear that no matter the conversation, you know more about everything than I do.

Even though you've never met me, never met my kids, never seen if or how we communicate, never been there for my parenting ... yes, it's clear, you know more. Not even worth discussing.

But, you don't know the genetic history. The pill is out, depoprevara is out, (direct link to ovarian cancer), Yaz and any of its cousins/subs have pulled off the market for causing deaths, the contraceptive rings can't be used on anyone who is susceptible to ovarian/uterine cancer ... so, I don't have to be a doctor to read the warnings on these materials and what they state the manufacturers and FDA know are dangers for people with certain genetic dispositions/tendencies. You also don't know how many people on Rebekah's side of the family have died from heart attack, stroke and cancer. More than half of her family are dead, and 3/4's of the ones who have died, haven't made it to/past 40.

So excuse me if I exercise caution, on behalf of my daughter, based on my knowledge of the situation, numerous negative variables and not your presumptions of all encompassing knowledge.

I don't want her pregnant, but between that and her dying from trying to prevent pregnancy and dealing with Rebekah's absolute lack of character, not every decision can be made from your all knowing position of "that's just how it is."

I'm feeling a bit useless here really, not having been through this myself (yet) - Though I also am 41 I came out of the gate a wee bit later than you by roughly 19 years - the only thought I had today was pretty gloomy really. Okay so little boys hit their early teens and, as you have said, become sexually crazed, but that might be not the only thing your daughter will have to learn to fend off gracefully. I suspect there will also be a whole bunch of her girlfirends who will increasingly peer-pressure her into sexual experimentation.

I mean, virginity still carries a certain virtue, if you'll pardon the pun, and once schoolfriend no1 falls off the unicorn, it will be in her unconscious interest to pull down the rest of her friends with her. Once the majority, or even a smaller, but more socially influencial critical mass, have succumbed to hormone heaven, virginity, or even a state of it's unproven loss, will become the target of derision.

Which means you've gotta watch both boyfriends and kinda the group she hangs out with too. Sorry.

With the pregnancy thing, looks like it's time to get out Mr. Banana and Mr. Condom. Good luck with that one.

Nothing to be sorry about, Kriswest said the same thing; and I don't doubt the capacity of the female in manipulation.

"Hopefully", I've given Lyssi enough of an individualised mindset to give her tools for defending herself. Against the males, I don't have much doubt, her propensity for violent reciprocation for unwanted behavior has already shown itself.

I haven't really pressed her about peer pressure from within, so that is something I should put some weight towards. Females do have a much harder road to being an actual individual than even the males.

She's already been informed about condoms; and the fact that their failure is how her oldest brothers were manufactured. They are only somewhat useful.

I love the results of taking stuff maliciously out of context!

You have to admit, that's hilarious! I mean, I'm reading it with the intended definition of, "Counsel," and it is still hilarious. I can just picture it, a pair of parents with their daughter and a chalkboard with various positions diagrammed all over it.

Not funny at all if it actually happened, but TV show funny, know what I mean?
